Terms of Use
1. Purpose
These terms set the conditions for using the Chargin app ("the service") provided by Modakbang ("we").
2. The service
- The service helps you put your phone down at the bedtime you set. It works out your bedtime from your wake time and target sleep, puts a gate on the apps you pick before bed, and shows how the night went against your plan.
- The service does not measure sleep. "Night charge" is the share of your planned sleep window that stayed protected from distracting apps. It says nothing about sleep quality or health. The service is not a medical device or medical advice.
- App locking works only as far as iOS Screen Time (Family Controls) allows. Turning off the permission or deleting the app removes the lock, and features iOS protects, such as calls, are never blocked.
3. Accounts
- An anonymous account is created on first launch. Linking an Apple account is optional and keeps your records across devices.
- You can leave at any time from Settings › Account › Delete account. Deleted records cannot be recovered.
4. Paid service (Chargin Pro)
- Chargin Pro is an auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription. Prices are shown on the purchase screen and charged to your Apple account.
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Cancel in iPhone Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
- If a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription unless you cancel before it ends.
- Refunds follow Apple's policy and can be requested at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- With Strict Mode on, changing the plan, ending early, or extending is restricted after bedtime that night. You choose to turn it on, and it lifts automatically at wake time.
5. Ads
Free users can choose to watch an ad; watching to the end unlocks Pro features for that night once. How ad data is handled is described in the privacy policy.
6. Your obligations
Do not use the service abnormally, interfere with its operation, or use someone else's information. Fraudulent ad clicks or manipulated impressions are also prohibited.
7. Changes and interruptions
We may change features to improve the service and will announce significant changes that affect you in the app before they take effect. The service may pause briefly for maintenance or events beyond our control.
8. Limitation of liability
Except for intent or gross negligence, we are not liable for losses caused by iOS policy changes, your permission settings, or device conditions that keep a lock or alarm from working. Depending on iOS version and settings, the wake alarm may be silent in silent mode, so please also use a system alarm for important events.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Disputes go to the competent court under the Korean Civil Procedure Act.
